Where Horses Reign

Instead of a four-by-four,
I'd rather have my horse
'cause my ranch ain't the place
for a mechanized work force.

Them fancy trucks are killers
of ranch life as we know it
diggin ruts o're all the hills
and I'd like to forego it.

Horses are much better
than all them four-by-fours.
They leave trails and not ruts
as we go about our chores.

Horses don't get stuck,
their fuel's just some hay,
and they fertilize a bit
as they move along the way.

They don't scare the cattle
or chase away the deer;
they just do their job
the same throughout the year.

So take your trucks elsewhere
to rip up the terrain
and keep them off my ranch
where me and horses reign.
